The Water Mint flower head seen from above. Water Mint is common at this time of the year. It prefers damp habitats and will grow in water, making it a good choice for wildlife ponds and bog gardens. The plant has a strong peppermint-like fragrance. The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked (but they are strong). They can also be dried and used as a tea.
